Fundraising is an important aspect to any non-profit organization. It’s how we are able to share our mission, vision, values and overall cause of our organizations. Programs and services offered by local non-profits are dependent on fundraising to supplement fees for services, staffing and overall budgets.

For the past 17 years, Tour de Fat has provided bicycle non-profits a great opportunity to raise funds, build awareness and share their cause with local communities. New Belgium Brewing has collaborated with numerous local non-profit organizations nationwide to raise funds and produce unique special events such as Tour de Fat, the Urban Assault Ride, CLiPs Beer and Film Tour, and Mountain Adventure Scavenger Hunt.
Special events are not just about raising money and having fun. They can also communicate your cause, introduce your mission and your organization to new people, increase membership, gather data, and educate others about a program or service offered by your organization.

The main objectives of this presentation are to demonstrate how special events can be beneficial to local bicycle non-profit organizations, how bicycle non-profits can leverage these events to support the cause of their organization, increase the amount of funds raised at events, and to help identify potential partnerships or events that bicycle non-profit organizations can pursue to improve fundraising.
