The Bicycle Friendly Driver program was started by the City of Fort Collins FC Bikes in Colorado in December 2015 and has since made its way to communities across the nation. The innovative approach to reaching motor vehicle drivers with information about how to share the road safely with bicyclists has given advocates, city staff, academics and education professionals a new way package and deliver bicycle safety education. Since the program was debuted at the National Bike Summit in March 2017 people in 39 states and 3 countries have leveraged this program to make a positive difference.

In this session you will earn a Bicycle Friendly Driver certification and see how the program is delivered. In addition, you will learn about resources for LCIs as well as other attendees to help you start and deliver the program in your communites.
